Job Title: Freelance Audio Engineer (Project-Based Work)
Location: Remote and willing to travel onsite as-needed
Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Audio Engineer to join our dynamic team on a project-by-project basis. This is an ideal opportunity for an independent contractor or freelancer who is interested in flexible, short-term engagements rather than a full-time role.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in audio production, mixing, and mastering, with a keen ear for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality sound. You will work to create exceptional audio recordings that meet the artistic vision of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate audio equipment for recording sessions, including microphones, mixers, and digital audio workstations (DAWs).
Record, edit, and mix audio tracks for various projects, including albums, singles, and promotional materials.
Collaborate to achieve the desired sound and ensure the highest quality of recordings.
Master audio tracks for distribution across various platforms, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Maintain and troubleshoot audio equipment and software to ensure optimal performance.
Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and technologies to continually improve skills and processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as an audio engineer in a studio or live sound environment.
Proficiency in industry-standard DAWs (e.g., Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live).
Strong understanding of audio mixing and mastering techniques.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with sound design and music composition.
Familiarity with MIDI programming and virtual instruments.
Knowledge of acoustics and studio design.
